The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 highlights the importance of digital inclusion and equitable access to technology. However, many students from rural and tribal communities still have limited exposure to computers and digital tools. Bridging this digital divide is essential to ensure that every child
has an equal opportunity to succeed in the digital age. To address this challenge, Edignite Foundation, in collaboration with Leadership for Equity (LFE),
is implementing the Code on Demand program in Nagpur District. The initiative brings digital learning directly to schools through a fully equipped mobile learning van, enabling students to experience handson computer education for the first time. Through engaging, Scratch-based coding sessions, students learn the fundamentals of computers, coding, computational thinking, and problem-solving. The program encourages creativity, innovation,
and confidence by enabling students to design animations, games, and real-world projects while developing essential 21st-century skills. The initiative is aligned with the goal of providing hands-on exposure to computers, coding, and innovation through experiential learning. In the academic year 2025–26, the program successfully reached 504 students across government schools. Building on this success, the program is expanding to benefit 1,000 students during 2026–27.
The growing enthusiasm among students demonstrates the transformative power of technology-enabled learning. By making digital education accessible, Code on Demand is nurturing a new generation of confident learners, creative thinkers, and future innovators.
